I was fortunate to work with McLaughlin Coffee Roasting Company, a family-owned and operated San Francisco Bay Area Coffee Roaster. Located in Emeryville, McLaughlin has been roasting coffee for over 30+ years.
I knew I wanted to work with them the second I met with Mike, Shaun and Mark. Their passion for coffee and enthusiasm to create a blend for me was unforgettable.
My first goal in sourcing a coffee roaster was to find someone local. I believe that investing in your community helps provide support and growth.

Creating the perfect blend was the fun part of the process! With the help and knowledge of Mike McLaughlin, he helped create a few sample blends and we narrowed it down to four potential blends.
The tricky part of creating a Kahve blend is that it is finely ground. Kahve Koffee is finer than an espresso. The trick to getting the perfect grind is ensuring you grind the koffee beans very slow, otherwise, the roast can burn from the heat during the grind process.
Brewing the perfect cup of Kahve is a technique one masters over a period of time. But one, must have the perfect blend in order to achieve the perfect brew.
I brewed (a lot!) cups of Kahve to ensure I had the right blend. Kahve preparation is different, in that, the unifliterd koffee is boild over heat in a copper pot. To get the perfect brew, the blend has to be just perfect in density.
After a few samples, I ended up selecting koffee beans sourced from Ethiopia and South America. The French + Mocha Java Blend has flavors of dark chocolate, mocha and espresso. The medium roast, finely grind koffee is a perfect blend for boiling the perfect cup of Kahve Koffee.
It's a surreal feeling when you see your blend come together and your product ready to be shipped!
I am so happy to share the Kahve expierenice with koffee aficionados everywhere! Buy your kit today and start enjoying Kahve with your friends and family.
